I owned this car for 6 years and 1 month before it all went to hell. I had some dinner with some friends at a local sports bar and left around 1:15 am. I walked out with another guy who was leaving and he just happens to hop in his 2014 Stormtroopered C7 Stingray. I was in love with it and we pulled out at the same time. I rolled my windows down as i got up next to it to hear the awesome, and once beside him he decided to drop it in second and get on it. Well in doing so, he lost control and slammed the passenger rear quarter of my car shooting me into a curb, and then my car rolled over on its top in an Aldis parking lot :(

And to my suprise when I got out of the car (unhurt thankfully) he was no where to be found. Turns out he was hammered and decided running and not even seeing if i was alive was the best idea. I was only going the speed limit (35mph) so no I was not trying to race a Stingray in my maybe 230hp Civic lol. Anyways, the cops found his car 3 days later and he is denying everything. I have court coming up so I won't get into too much detail untill its done, but I was given a ticket for careless driving since it was a one car wreck when they showed up, and I had went across the other lanes of traffic before I flipped.

At this point your probably like holy s!!!! That is crazy. Well the cops saw his car and it had damage but they said they could not match the damage! Dafuq, how could they when my entire car is damaged but only his driver side is just like I explained to them. Turns out the guy who hit me owns the bar I was at, and has a LOT of money and a ton of pull in this town. So the cops arent helping me at all! But to my amazement, the shop he chose to repair his car are complete idiots and posted before and after pics of his car. So I know how good quality pictures to show the judge to get that ticket dropped, and hopefully get him with a cni, leaving the scene, and whatever else. He deserves an attempted manslaughter in my opinion, I can get over alot of crap but when you try to kill me and dont even stop to see if im alive or anything really gets to me. Here's a few pics of the vette, tell me it isnt obvious he hit me and my tire rolled along the side of his 70k car lol.

At this point I wanted to find and beat that dumbass, but there is no sense in that. I decided I wanted to upgrade to a 335I and started hunting for one with everything I was looking for. After a month of that I said f it and I bought this :)

Its a 2011 CBP FA5 with only 24k miles  1 owner, mint, and even has factory seats wrapped in leather with heated seats! I'm not sure if Honda did it or not but it seems that way, it's very well done unlike some other leather seats ive seen around 8th. I don't have very many plans for this car, I just installed Flashpro and im going to get it tinted and lower it some. I'm sure I'll change my mind eventually though. Thanks for looking!

So I decided to finally make a build thread after being here forever. I used to drive a black fg1 that got totaled so the name is no longer relevant but I did finally get an si out of it! :vtec:

Here is the day I picked it up.

Made a few small mods pretty soon in the interior.

And put in some Nokya yellows and fog light overlays from grfxp

Eventually started a new job and got to work on the motor. Ordered some piping and couplers to make my own intake and red8th here on the forum made me a custom battery relocation tray. I also picked up flashpro at the same time to start tuning with Vit.

I was actually done modding for a while and was saving for something else but couldnt pass up a great deal on a new skunk2 header. Since I didnt want to get under the car twice I decided to order the Invidia Q300 at the same time.

Lastest impulse buy was wheels and tires. I had wanted wheels for a while but rather than buy new tires to replace the shot ones on my stock wheels and wait a few months I decided to just get new wheels and tires now. :giggle:

When those were shipped I also thought it would look super 4x4 so splurged and grabbed some buddy club N+ coilovers.

Here is how it sits today.

Review of 8th gen Civic SI with misc Mods

Hello 8th gen community. I wanted to write a summary/review of the 06 civic si and modifications that I have done in the last few years. Let me start off by saying, this forum is a great source of information. I have learned so much about Honda engines and how everything works just by reading your posts. Coming from a background working with mainly classic cars, the l4 engine is a bit different
I started off with a 94 Honda Civic DX with a 5 speed manual and loved it. It was of course a daily driver and not quick at all. However, the car never wanted to quit running. I think that is really when I fell in love with Honda. When I graduated college and started working full time, I decided I wanted a newer model. I was set on the car being stick and looked around and could only find the SI model. After looking at this forum and reading reviews, I decided to spend a bit more and get what I wanted. My first impression of the car was great. It was quick, sounded great and was very comfortable. This wore off about 6 months after I purchased the car and I decided I wanted to modify it a bit.
I wanted to do a small review for the main modifications that I had installed over the last few years.

Takeda Cold Air Intake

This was the first mod that I had purchased and installed on my car. It was very easy to install and took about 1.5 hours. I will say that I did not notice too much of a power increase with this alone. The car sounded much louder (in a good way). Later on I decided to try a Helix TBS and was very disappointed. I put on a different radiator hose so everything would fit. With the TBS everything was crammed and the CAI actually did not fit correctly any longer. Eventually, the bolt that held the CAI to the frame broke due to the extra pressure on it. This caused the CAI to drop down a bit and actually got in the way of the Shifter arm causing notchy shifting.

Flashpro w/ Tune from Steve (BV1) at E-Tunez

At this point, I am somewhat satisfied with the car, but I wanted more. I read on here that flashpro is the way to go. The most important thing I wanted to change was the dreaded rev hang. It did just that and more. I received my first custom Tune from Steve (BV1) at E-Tunez. This completely transformed the car. It ran so smooth and more efficient after just one tune. We went through about 5 or 6 tunes after that. I went from 24 MPG to about 32 MPG. The Vtec cam kicked at a lower rpm allowing more mid range power. All in all this was the best mod I have done on the car. Working with Steve was great. He responded to my emails on a daily basis and his customer service was top notch. I have gone through several different tunes with Steve over the last few years. Basically, every mod I have installed I would go back and get a re-tune. The price is very cheap and is basically a no-brainer in my opinion. You really get the best of your mods with a proper tune. I encourage you to check out his website.

ECU Tuning for K-Pro, FlashPro and AccessPORT | E-Tunez

Invidia Q300 Cat Back Exhaust

I will start by saying; I love how this exhaust sounds. It is very quiet, but still a bit louder than stock. I have had this on the car for 2 years now and have gone through 2 Chicago winters and it is still holding up strong. I could actually clean it up and it would shine like it was brand new. The bolts and gaskets are a bit rusty, but are still sealing. I did not notice much a power increase with this mod either. I would assume because it was still a stock header and downpipe. I would recommend this exhaust to anyone.

Jackson Racing Supercharger kit w/out fuel management

After driving the car for a few more months, I decided that I needed more, a lot more! I did a ton of research and received much of my knowledge on supercharging from this forum. It seemed that I could still daily drive the car with a supercharger safely. Since I already had the flashpro, I did not want to buy the kit that came with it. I went ahead and got some DW 800 injectors with a DW65C Fuel Pump. Installation was time consuming but not difficult. I just used one of the DIY write-ups on this forum to guide the way. This was a great investment! I loved the raw power that this produces. I put the SC on about 1.5 years ago and I am still having an absolute ball with it. The sound of the supercharger with the q300 exhaust is like music to my ears. I had Steve tune this as well. The base map that is on flashpro did not work out well. There were a ton of knocks and it stumbled a bit. I would highly encourage anyone who does a more extreme mod to get a custom tune. Steve once again saved the day with this. He got rid of all knocks and the car ran 100 times better. I have yet to take this to the track, but I plan on it this summer. The way the car sits now, it looks like a complete sleeper. I shock people when I give it some gas and they get put into their seat immediately. Also, I will occasionally get mustangs, cameros, and challengers that want to try and pass me. I am not a very aggressive driver, but I do take full advantage of the situation and always come out ahead. The look on their faces is priceless. I would suggest this option to anyone looking for decent power out of an l4. Again coming from a classic muscle car background, I wanted something that will put me in the seat. This accomplished just that and more.

HFP Suspension Kit

I was in need of new struts and shocks and decided to go the HFP route. Installation was a breeze other than a few stubborn bolts. In the end, the car sits a pinch lower, but honestly cannot tell the difference. However, it performs so much better on turns. I love it! If feels like the car is glued to the ground. The firmness was different at first, but after a few months I’m completely used to it and prefer it. I almost wonder if I should have just gotten some cheap coil over’s. I just like the fact that this is a Honda product.

Invidia Race header

I have purchase a Berk HFC downpipe a while back and was not happy with it. It sounded like there was an exhaust leak and could never find it. There were 0 gains with the Berk HFC and it rusted up very quickly. I decided to just get rid of the cat completely and went with a new style Invidia Race header with the spring bolts. The quality of this header matches the q300. I feel like it will last a long time. I did notice a nice increase of midrange pulling power. However, this was not really noticeable until after a re-tune with Steve. This header sounds great paired with the q300. I would not change this exhaust tone for any other. Also, I do not think the smell is all that bad without a cat. I’m used to the smell of gas coming from the exhaust on my 65 cutlass. I actually like the smell.

Misc Mods

Some of the minor mods I did were shifter cable bushings and Amsoil MTF. Both are great and will help with notchy shifting. My transmission is from 2006 and shifts as smooth as butter. Never had any issue with 3rd gear as of yet. Also, I did put on a hasport rear mount. I liked the performance aspect and smoother sifting but could not deal with the vibrations when daily driving. I decided to simply inject my stock mount and it seems to be a very good option as well as much cheaper. When I do go to the track, I will more than likely put the hasport mount back on. Lastly, I just replaced my cmc with a Wagner EM1 cmc with a ss clutch line. This was a night and day upgrade. Prior to this, I had gone through 2 Honda Nissin cmc’s and a duralast cmc.

This is everything I have done up to this point. I do plan on getting a aftercooler and 3 inch SC pulley within the next year. I have actually found out recently that my wife and I are going to have a baby, so car funds will be a bit tight for a while. But that will not stop me. I hope this review can help some and if anyone has any advice regarding my build, I would love to hear it.

Thanks again to everyone on this forum. It has really helped me understand modern import cars and how to have fun with them.

If you road race or track your car, this will likely happen to you eventually...

So now the car is a mess:
  • engine hood
  • left fender
  • front bumper cover
  • condenser
  • both front lights
  • passenger side scratches and dents
  • rear passenger tail light
  • rear bumper cover dent
  • driver airbag deployed

Probably something like $8-$9k in damage if repaired by a body shop and dealer, and no track day insurance (which is outrageously expensive and even now I don't think its worth it). Definitely not about to claim this on my regular car insurance policy either. I can hear them now "You were doing what?!" and watch my rates skyrocket forever, if they would even cover me.

Was toying with the idea of making it a dedicated track day car, but I like the dual purpose DD and racer approach personally, and its hard to match the track performance I already get with this car unless I was willing to spend $50k or more. No frame issues or engine damage, so time to dig in and fix it up.

My estimate for doing this myself is something like $2,500 (half of that is for the SRS/airbag system - ouch!) We'll see how close I get and how well it turns out.

Remove damaged parts:

Ordered a pile of parts, which should start flowing in next week, for way less than dealer prices (except for the SRS stuff, no good alternative there). Check out Certifit for body panels and lights - ridiculously low prices, and others on this forum have reported good quality from them.

Some rough body panel work to pound out the biggest dents before sanding and body filler next:

I'll add more as the rebuild progresses, including the DIY spray booth in the garage I'll be making. :umad:

Hello 8th. I know i don't post much, but I've got something to share with you guys.

So here is how the story goes.

I initially went to a dealership to buy a Evo 9 MR, but they wouldn't finance for less than 400 a month. So I ended up leaving with a 2010 Taffeta White Civic Si (4-door). I have many friends with 8th gens, and I said why the hell not. Many of them had the tuned and yeah, they were FAST! So i bit the bullet and started buying car parts 1 week after i bought the car.

MODS

Engine:
- PLM header
- Full Race Exhaust
- RRC intake manifold
- J35 thottle body
- Hybrid Racing intake
- K-Tuned intake manifold gasket
- P2R throttle body gasket
- FlashPro
- Tune
- Battery relocation

Transmission:
- M-tec race shifter springs
- Hybrid Racing EM1 CMC (waiting for it)
- Type-R shift knob (FD2)

The first part i bought were "TSX" cams, but i decided to part ways with them since they had some surface rust which required me to micro-polish them

A week later i got a refund from school allowing me to buy my flashpro, shifter springs and ended up getting the car tuned by Javi at K-Phonix

The Car made 199 HP and 147tq with STOCK EVERYTHING!!!!

Some time after, a friend (zib331) bought a rotrex kit and no longer was using his RRC, so i bought it off of him, and another friend of mine bought a J35 throttle body unknowingly that his car already had one, so i bought it off gf him still in box, and then bought a thermal gasket from Autofair Honda (thanks Colin & Ryan)

A while later i paused buying stuff as girlfriends are expensive, and bounced back financially...eventually, so since my car is a Navi model, and it came with ratchet clarion single din radio, it felt like my car was lacking in the "entertainment" department, so i went out and bought a new double-din

So, i paused my build again, and started to think, "I am missing the main components to my full bolt on set up, my intake-header and exhaust" so i bit the bullet once again and started dumping money. First i ordered my PLM headers from VitViper (thanks Vit). He always let me know the status of my order. So the headers got to me, and i couldn't resist building them the same night I got them.

So to match up the headers, I am really picky with sound, i wanted something that was not loud or raspy, so i ordered my exhaust from Full Race, service was great because i did run into some issues with the exhaust unfortunately. 1) They sent the wrong v-clamp with the kit, 2) the exhaust gasket didn't align the holes on the flanges either, but Erik at Full Race was always a great help. Thankfully i have a friend that works at Treadstone, and is local that came to the rescue with the correct size v-clamp, and then came install day!

So the final piece to the puzzle was my intake, and this was a very hard decision between import DPS , and Hybrid Racing. I ended up making my mind for Hybrid Racing and made my order, after about 2 weeks of waiting, i started to get worried, and spoke to Josh from Hybrid Racing, which he came to tell me the unfortunate news that the intake was on back order, but he always kept updated on the status of my order

Lastly after everything was installed, i had to make the toughest choices in my life, PICK A TUNER!!! Here in Miami, we have diversity of shops and tuners, and since K-Phonix closed, i needed to tune somewhere else, So I chose RaceLAB since my best friend a.k.a "brother" got tuned by them (Ramon and Angel) and i saw how awesome his car is on e-85 in partial and WOT.

So since e-85 is not close to me, i ended getting tuned on pump 93, and went on getting tuned with that.

Dyno Conditions were 93 degrees ambient, and 48% of Humidity, so I'm happy with the numbers even with the "bad" weather conditions.

Car made 223hp and 163tq

I am really appreciative with the service i have gotten from the people and companies

Thank You
- Erik from Full Face
- Colin and Ryan from Autofair Honda
- Josh From Hybrid Racing
- Javi and Jimbo from K-phonix
- VitViper

and lastly
my tuners Ramon and Angel from RaceLAB

sorry guys i kind of let my old thread die. Im now on an operationional submarine and don't have a lot of time lately. I have however done some car work. so those of you that don't know me i have a 06 habanero red si w/ the 1.6L whipple supercharger on a modified CT-e manifold to be air to air cooled. The big changes from my last thread are the motor work and went from 3" to 2.7" sc pulley. This kit was made by mercracing. Any of you that haven't had the pleasure to do business with jose are missing out. Great products and costumer care. I wanted something new and jose said he had an idea and no one currently wanted to back it. Well we couldn't let that happen. Now I know of jose, FSrider, and myself running A2A systems. Im currently still working out all the issues with my car not so much the kit anymore.
the build is this.

after the motor build @19psi with a lifting head and pushing coolant I made 415hp and 300tq
Have not been back to a dyno after fixing the head gasket and adding a few extra ass pounds to the head studs.

in the fall the next upgrades will be
mfactory master rebuild due to grind from 1-2 above 3500 rpm hopefully the better syncros will finally rid me of this problem
Might get a Mfactory LSD while I'm in there.
1300cc injectors cause my 1000cc are maxed out
k24 crank pulley
larger intercooler

Hi there guys and gals.. Decided to do a build thead on my car to keep track and to keep you updated :).. Here is my story, dont worry, I'll keep it as short as possible ;)

I had a 96 integra, awesome car, loved it so much... Sadly I totaled it. I had a friend with a 08 SI.. When I was looking into what car to buy I test drove it, and instantly loved it and wanted no other car!! After a long search, I found mine :).. a 06 FG2 habanero red.

Sooo I decided to go with classico bolt ons just to get things moving:
Skunk2 intake
Invidia header
Custom 3" exhaust
Flashpro

Tuned with Vit :D - got about 210WHP

After that, added:
RRC IM ported inlet 70mm
RDX injectors
Thermal gaskets
J35 TB ported outlet 70mm
And removed fog lights ;)

ReTuned with Vit :D - edynoed 225WHP, dynoed here 220WHP

After all that I didnt do much, installed a 11lb ACT flywheel with 6 puck ACT disk and OEM PP. Installed boomba mounts and let it be..

After some time, decided to go k20/k24, got really close to doing but ran into some problems :(, here is the thread.

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/mecha...questions.html

Anyway, after that situation a lot of stuff ran through my mind as to what to do with the car, even thought about getting rid of it (CRAZY!) But after a lot of thinking, decided to keep it.. Changed the muffler I had, the Apexi WS2, didnt like so much the sound, got a N1 style muffler on ebay, with 2 resonators (vibrant ultra quiet and vibrant long one). got a really deep and awesome sound, love it!!

So decided to get some DC DIC, which I just installed recently and currently tuning with Vit :D.. And in the future I plan to go FI, turbo kit or SC, gonna save some money now and see where this goes.

So car as it currently sits:
Skunk2 intake with maf delete
Invidia header
3" custom exhaust, 2 resonators with n1 muffler
RRC IM ported 70mm
j35 tb ported 70mm
Thermal gaskets
RDX inyectors
boomba mounts
Drag Cartel DIC

I lost almost all of my pictures but here some of which I have left :)

Hey all,

been surfing around here for a while and I thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Steve live in Rockland county NY. Used to have a 2008 lx coupe, traded up to my 09 fa5.

haven't done anything to crazy, just getting into the car scene. Learning a lot on this forum thanks for that everyone.

current mods:

Skunk2 CAI
Eibach prokits
Flashpro

The LX

When I got the FA5
65K +/- miles

first thing I did was take off that sun roof visor

hyper yellow nokya

Winter mode shots

sitting with my dads 66 gto

winter destroyed the paint on my front end. got DR color chip works pretty well but you can still tell the paint is chipped now its just all the same color.

prokits

discovered ill probably have to get new struts sooner than later, boots gone and seems like front passenger is bent slightly (not in photo)

springs settled

dipped the front lip

how she sits now before a wash

future plans:

Id like to get wheels not sure what yet .

q300 and not sure on what header.

I don't know how to handle passing NYS inspection yet, anyone from NY have any problems using the 02 bung or flashpro to turn it off?

Thanks for reading constructive criticism welcome.

So, I have a few threads started so far but not a whole one with my car's progression.

IG: danny4327

To start: I am mommy and daddy funded, I'm not ashamed of it. I received my 2011 ASM Si as my graduation gift and college incentive. However, all mods and repairs were funded by me; and you'll see that it's quite the amount.

Right now I won't post pictures yet as I'm on my phone. But I'll place a basic story line.

Day 1: this dealership I found is an hour and 15 minutes away, so traveling to it aside from negotiating and picking up was not worth it. Found a small crease on the rear bumper and a minor door ding (opening the door) while getting it's first inspection. Went back to the dealer but they wanted me to bring it back another day because I picked up on a Sunday.

Retrofits: one of first mods and very worth it. I'm on my 10th personal set and addicted to retrofitting.

Retro: FX-R + wheels! DR-31

FD1 CF rear: I picked it up and ended up selling to free up some money

More Retro's: RX330 and ES300 fogs

Accident: Basically I'm at fault, and so I paid ~5k out of pocket to repair my passenger doors and repaint them and fender and quarter panel; while paying to replace the OEM headlight minor frame damage, and repaint fender and bumper

Another Retro: G37 + S2K Quads

Boosting:
Got the foil on!

I "ghetto" rigged a pulley system with a spool of speaker wire I had (two 16 Gauge so it was fine) to get the turbo up.

Catch can/ air filter/

Went to Chipotle, asked the cashier for gloves, she looked at me like I was crazy... then I showed her my hands.. she was like OHH.. my hands were pretty bad. Got most the surface gunk off, but since I was gonna work on the car again, I figured gloves is easier.

Battle scars!

CX Racing intercooler, paired up against the bumper beam using brackets.

New retro:

Added some Lexus DRLs to the other retro:

Hexa-retro for 2 weeks:

Quad retro - RL + RX350:

Some body work:

Currently: I've just completed the FD2 type r front and FD1 rear
these are different DR-31 17x9 +17

picked up a mini me some time on the way

i know am late but i always got lazy to do it  lol

here we go let me know what you think :readtherules::beer:

i stared as anyone in here with ricers wheels lol

dont know the name of them !
car was stock
i add the full hfp kit
cut springs some lowered springs i had at that time (yea i know  :facepalm:smh) lmao

after i got some xxr 521
18x10+25 on 215/40/18
&add a sti lip and also brought a set of used skunk2 coilovers which was pretty bad to be slammed

4x4 :...:

next was some advanwheels ,rotas, volks bbs rs reps (axis klassics 17x8.5+15)etc i dont have all pics of all the wheels i had in the past

and yea car was going thruw some bad times with those fenders and qp ,paint etc and also decide to buy some buddy club n+v2
which was the beggining for a new car for me :clapping::woowoo:
soo... decide to have the whole car repainted and fix those qp n fenders

after i decide to take of the white platic dip i had on the axis

next was real legit wheels !
i got a good deal on some local bbs rs with weak specs
and order new lips and had them redone !

came out nice but it was way too aggressive for my coupe
17x10.5+10

so i trade them for some less agresive bbs rs

got tired of the spray teal paint they came with
and decide to have the faces redone pearl white
oh yea i also decide to do bride inside when i had the bbs

and other few upgrades like skunk2 camber arms and front camber bolts
& quick release steerwheel

after having the same look of rs
i decide FINALLY TO move on!
sold em
n got some work equips
17x9+25

and got tired of them fast for not having the stretch i wanted
and decide to sell them
and also decide to move on and stop being sti liplow

and got me a set of some discontinue arc winglets &
got me a set of ROTIFORM TMBs 17x9.5+15

Yao!!

Six years running, now at the point where I think my car deserves a build thread! What is all this "I bought my car yesterday here is my build thread" nonsense!? Get outta here with that! :pinkreadtherules:

I just installed my CT SC last night and now I feel that my car is worth of noting :giggle:

I know this is going to take a long ass time to get all my pics and upgrades up on this thread, so it will be changing day-to-day. And I hope I can remember all the parts I bought and installed on the bish :rotfl:

Here are a few pics to get it all started!
