ApexEight's '08 Civic Si Sedan Build Thread

Hey guys, I'm Anthony, and this is my build thread for my 2008 Honda Civic Si sedan. It sucks that this forums is dead, for the most part, but I want to keep this thread updated to document my ownership of this vehicle.

I bought it in March from a family moving out of state for $4,500. It had about 170K miles on it and a recent OE replacement clutch job. It was completely stock, and aside from oil changes, brakes, and tires, doesn't have much of a maintenance history. I am the third owner.

The car was way too quiet for me, so I had a muffler shop delete the resonator and weld in an SRS muffler. It's pretty mellow in most situations, with a nice tone to redline. Check out the vids if you'd like.

I also added an eBay front lip that is currently off the car because I messed up the initial install, as well as Acuity shifter springs and an eBay shift knob.

I've taken it to two autocross events now, though the first time was in rain, but got some nice shots the second time around. I barely beat out an intake, tune 9th gen Si on Pilot Super Sports. I'm on 500 TW all-seasons. Also beat out my brother's HR 350Z with a Y-pipe, test pipes, and single-exit axle-back, K&N intake filters, and wider wheels and sticker, Federal tires (bonus pic included). He's also on Eibach lowering springs, though his shocks are blown which he claims really held him back. I believe him, because he's actually a better driver than me, lol. Anyway, I was definitely impressed with the car and had a blast.

Future plans include installing 215/45/17 GT Radial Champiro SX2s on all four corners, Dorman front camber bolts and rear camber kit, an alignment, and also some preventative maintenance items. And oh, getting better at detailing, specifically, machine polishing.

Thanks for reading! :wavey:

2009 Civic Si build

Hello all, :wavey:

I have been on these forums for some time but have never really posted anything. I have learned a lot from here and my civic si is the way it is because of what I discovered on here.

Anyway here is my story.

I purchase a 2009 fa5 in September of 2016. It had 63k miles and I paid 10.5k for it, all stock. I kept it like that for about 1.5 years and then the modding began.

Currently my build list is as follows.

Acuity Shifter Cable Bushings
Acuity Shifter Base Bushings
Hybrid Racing CMC and Exedy Slave Cylinder
Stoptech Slotted Rotors with Centric Premium Brakes
Tein Street Advance Z coilovers
Hybrid Racing Intake
1320 Headers with HFC
Full Race Exhaust

Dyno Tuned by Evans Tuning: 213 WHP and 153 TQ
(I could have made more but I chose the header just to avoid the Catless smell, so there was a tradeoff with power)

Right now the car has 84k miles and it is my daily driver. I had plan to do some autocross events for it but that did not happen. I love the way it sounds, and feels. Sadly I am having paint issues with the clear coat so that will probably be the next thing to address.

Any questions or inputs... please let me know

2007 civic si whining noise

Hello honda brothers
I just bought my first si and i love it. I got a good deal on the car for 3500 with only 127k miles. But it has this whining noise that doesn’t affect the performance of the car but it is just annoying. It also turns off when i turn the ac on. Also replaced the tensioner pulley but that was not the problem. Here’s the sound . Please check it out!!

Well my 08 fa5 is totaled so I'm looking for another one, preferably 09-11 clean and decently low miles. Tried posting this on the for sale page but didn't work. Any help is appreciated

So a little back story first. Over the summer my engine block blew up on my Civic si. So I want to put a newer engine model in but I have heard lots of different things about swapping the k20z3 to a K24Z7. Any advice and help would be welcomed. I am looking for information mainly but any extra advice is welcomed.

hey everyone - things may be a bit slow on this forum, but i just can't bring myself to bother trying to sift through all the nonsense on social media groups, and i really enjoy seeing how people modify their cars from start to finish in a proper build thread. figured i should try to make an effort to tell my ongoing story here in the hopes that it provides some solutions and entertainment for you all.

don't expect a crazy, overpowered racecar with an FD2-swapped front end or anything of that nature. my goal here has been to take an already great platform and amplify the performance another 30-40% while keeping it completely functional as a family car. it has to reliably be able to handle a weekend at the track or an afternoon sitting in traffic with the A/C blasting while running errands. and finally i'll be documenting the ongoing maintenance to keep things running smoothly.

current mod list
• Tein H-Tech springs / Koni STR.T "Orange" Struts aka the Redshift "HFP Killer"
• aggressive street alignment, 0 toe with -1.8 deg front camber, stock "C-Stamped" rear camber
• SPC front camber bolts (1 pair)
• Stoptech Sport brake pads F/R
• WCLatheWerks Copolymer shift knob
• Redline Accessories leather shift boot
• Broadway 320mm Convex rear view mirror
• OEM mudguards F/R
• 9th Gen Front Door Checkers, 72340-TR3-A01 and 72380-TR3-A01
• Curt trailer hitch
• hardwired Spy Tec A118-C 1080p Dashcam

recent parts/maintenance
• Clutch master cylinder/pedal adjusted
• OEM idler pulley 31190-RRA-A00
• Denso Iridium 3419's aka SK22PR-M11
• OEM i-VTEC sticker replacement on passenger door
• Valvoline Synthetic DOT 3/4 brake fluid
• Amsoil Synchromesh gearbox fluid
• OEM air filter
• OEM cabin filter
• A/C recharged in June

I'm the second owner, picked it up Labor Day 2017. it was bought in Canada but spent its life in the southeast. Not a speck of corrosion and was completely stock when i got it. seems to have lived a pretty cushy life.

currently sitting at 96k miles, never misses a beat. it was a tough car to find, and i feel pretty lucky i was able to snag it. i'm convinced the 8th Gen Si is one of the best kept used car secrets out there for a solid do-it-all sporty car under $10k.

I just purchased a 2007 GGM si 88k

Needs some love!
lowered on ?? springs. front right sits lower than the rest. rear end shakes due to warped rotors. brakes squeak. clutch went out the day I bought it. paint has faded in spots. No muffler, cut and welded stock si tip to straight pipe. and some minor other things. like I said needs some love. But I'm up for the challenge!

already purchased Exedy stage 1 clutch kit and new flywheel. also got new rotors and pads. I was reading on here on what suspension to go with and I chose HFP Killer from Red Shift Motorsports. consist of Koni STR.T "Orange" Shocks and Tein S.Tech Springs. also got INGALLS Rear Camber Adjusters. waiting for all to arrive do it all at once. also just purchased 09 front end conversion. mostly from eBay and hondapartsnow.com. car needs painted, might as well put a new face on it.

I'm going to strip the paint off the stock si wheels for now. I'm sure its going to need new tires too. and will probably try to find a stock exhaust, and hfp muffler. needs whole new mid pipe. not sure if the cat is even there. will see once up on a lift.

This is the beginning of the build for my 07 SI sedan. I don't know how far I go with it. It will probably progress pretty slow as I get all the basics caught up on it. After that we will see where the journey takes me.

I picked this car up shortly after the motor in my E46 BMW went out. I needed a new daily seems how I drive 100 miles a day for work. I had been thinking about going back to Honda for the reliability and mpg's for a while. Guess it was time.

Car is a bone stock 07 SI that someone put the 09 front on after a previous accident. On to the pics.
