Figured I would start a build thread for the newest car.

Bought the car 02-16-2013 in Yamato Yokohama, Japan. I have not had a chance to get into the total teardown into looking at everything but she has some rust (typical for these cars).

My goal for the build is a Black top or Silver top 4A-GE 20v AE111/101 Engine, be semi reliability, look clean and close stock on the Inside/Out, but with a few modernizations, and do it right the first time.

Function > form

Hey guys this is my first build thread. I know i should have done one like 3 builds ago :giggle:

Well here is my civic story:

Started working full time freshman year in high school (2006). I wanted a nice car and my mom said she would split half of it with me and we would share the car.... We got a brand new 2007 4dr lx. :meh: Saw the si in the show room but she said no. Well couple years go buy and i join 8thcivic.com. :ohsnap::dancing::facepalm: shouldnt have done that haha. few months later i have a 2006 2dr si for the end of my last year at HS. :woop:

Wish list starts.
Old girl friend GONE!
work... like a dog.

(side note. i got my first real mod, aem sri a week after me and my fiance started dating!!!)

So mods start slow. Intake, painted vc, inside leds. noting much. Well i like my new si so much that i put it up for the winter and got a f150 :blah:
Next spring comes along and im like F that im drivin this bish all year.

Sold the truck that fall and got a CT sc kit, skunk2 header and Fullrace exhaust. OMG i was in love again.
This is where it really stars to go to hell. Stg.2 sc kit was not enough. So i started looking at mods. Saw aftercoolers...hmmmm. Well i can never go by the book so i contacted Jose at mercracing and said hey i want a 3.5" aftercooler. He jumped on it and like a month later i was after cooled. OH and running a 2.8 pulley with a 6.37 crank pulley. Blower rpm 20000 rpm. Mission accomplished.

But wait....

Still not enough.

Saw the word whipple and i was like :beer::beer::beer:

Told jose that i wanted to do a air to air cooling system. I guess he has always wanted to do this and just was waiting for the first person crazy enough. No more playing with these lil cores that sit under the blower. Time for a B.A.F.M.I.C. <--LOL

A few months before 2013 we started working on a design. Now it is siting in my engine bay.

Probably forgot stuff but its 5 am and i did not go to bed lol. :clapping:

A HUGE! Thank you goes out to Jose at Mercracing for doing a crazy good job on the custom manifold and all the other ins and outs he has helped me thru with my build. The guy knows his shizzz.
Another one to my awesome fiance Donna who has been thru every mod on my car with me.
And to my parents for showing interest in what ever i do. And support it.

Here is my mod list.

4" Custom intake.
4" custom inlet.
2.3L Whipple twinscrew SC w/ 4" pulley (for now)
Custom Mercracing Air to Air cooling manifold.
Mercracing 2.3 whipple adapter plate
CXRacing intercooler kit.
HKS BOV
Vitvipers BBG
FIC 1100cc inj's
RSX thermostat housing
Skunk2 alpha header with 3" megaphone
Fullrace exhaust
Sportlines

Now for pics

Old kit. (sold lol)

Truck i sold to buy my first kit.

Now for the new pix.

Thanks for looking!!

I have not started modding it yet because I just got it this week, so be patient. Feel free to subscribe and enjoy some nice Subaru content!

I have been on here for a while, I guess it's time to show my baby to the public. I took me a year and a half before I got bit by the mod bug. When it finally got me I can't stop.

So here goes:

The day when I got her.

After a year or so I got hit with the mod bug.

2 12" Kickers 400 watts to give the car some umph...

I needed some low, so I got these. Megan racing springs. have used them in the past and i liked them so it's what I used.

Plasti dipped the stockies with the red emblem from a local graphics shop.

Then got me some Ebay k2 fogs.

I needed more bass without having to be a baller so i got these.
2 12" Pioneer Champion Series PRO.

Then this happened... I hit a curb while parking and not paying attention when I hit a sharp edge. NY curbs sucks!!! (or I just need to pay more attention.)

Random pic with some 8th's i dont even know. LOL!!

So I got these after that curb accident.
Enkei EV5 17 x 7.5 wrapped in nankang all season tires.

Random pics again....

Then I got some replica Mugen visors from one of the members here.

Almost forgot about these.. J's racing wheel emblem. Key fob is from a family friend thatb lives in japan. He bought it straight from the dealership.

My guard in the car gotta be smelling good.

Then I got a rear window visor. (inspired by LouGraySi's build) I dont mean to copy you :hail: LOuGraySi. Sorry.. :hiding: BUT IT LOOKS SO HOT!!!!

Then Something came in the Mail!! :woowoo::woowoo::woowoo:

The fitting...

Got it back from the painter!!! After two weeks of waiting...

How she sits now....

For those who is about to say I need more low.... I can't. Here it is getting out of my parking garage... I already scraped it twice.

Well, there you go. Thanks for looking guys. Easy with the comments ok. :wavey:

ill start with a very short story on my previous car for those that dont know. it was an 06 civic EX coupe, that i had bought to save gas from my 83 silverado that i built and was daily driving. ended up putting too much money into it (no performance other than intake and resonator delete and si axelback which prob added nothing) bought it august of 06, and she was finally totaled december of 2012.
before:

After:

so after a littler searching and a lot of test driving i decided to get a wrx. so i placed my order on Jan 28th, and was told it wouldnt be here until May. well i got lucky and one was built but not allocated so i picked it up on Feb 26th! this is my first stick shift, and it took some getting used to, but i think i have it down fairly well.

the day i picked it up

LED licence plate lights

15% tint all around except windshield and moonroof

Nvidia q300 catback with burnt tips (love it)

and ordered kartboy short shifter and bushings, have RA mudflaps waiting to put on. and OEM allweather floor mats

and thats all...for now.

Lets try this again.

The theme for this build is FD1/FD2 inspired mods. Performance wise will likely remain modest. I traded my FG2 for an FA5 because my son was born. I don't really need much beyond the factory tuned K series.

I started my build with interior style mods. Since I spend most of my time inside my car I figure I should make it to my liking. Let me know what you think.
CTR Push Start, JDM Hazard Button, Red Stitched Si Wheel, J's Racing Airbag Cover Emblem, Satin Black Wheel Trim

This is my 2007 FA5 build. My goal is to keep the mods and car as clean as possible. Please I welcome all criticisms and opinions. Thanks and enjoy!:vtec:

I know most of you started with your 8th gen leaving the dealership. Mine was leaving the salvage junkyard.

I had won it from an auction website, picked it up, and took it to my uncle and dad's body shop. There it stayed while parts after parts were ordered to fix up the front.

Also, the knob was jacked so I bought the OEM one off a member off 8thcivic

Then came the parts slowly but, surely she was coming along

After several months, she was ready and had to get a photoshoot to start. Shout out to my boy Ryan for taking the shots.

Did another photoshoot with my boy Simon and his S2K.

I wanted better visibility while running HIDs so decided to pick up some mini H1 projectors along with new ballasts. Also, added some mugen visors.

Next, ordered an HFP Lip Kit from my local honda and price-matched majestic honda. Yes, the entire lip kit fit in my car. 4 doors ftw!

Installed Type R Front and Rear Emblems. Debadged the Civic emblem too.

Blacked out the housing of my retrofit to get a more aggressive look.

Hybrid Racing EM1 CMC Install. No more 2nd gear grind or lockout WOT.

Bought some T1R B52 Coilovers from a good friend Mike and had his shop Import Techniques install it. I also ordered some Gold Godspeed Rear Camber arms and has those installed too.

I wanted a more aggressive look and wasn't digging the 07 foglight placement so, made an offer to my friend and bought his 09 front bumper and HID foglights. Installed all by him and his shop PJD.

Had to get a front lip asap so I went with the 09+ Asia Front Lip.

Next, wanted some sidemarkers after seeing some done on other SI's in my crew. Went with Password JDM DC5 Amber sidemarkers with wiring harness. Installed by PJD.

Picked up a front SI badge to finish the look.

Some random pics from meets.

Lastly, meet the ATL8thgencivics Crew and my family :vtec:

Paint Job Connection in California

So I finally got my car painted. My entire car. Painted it stock color as I wanted to keep it stock. Came upon this guy who said he painted jaguars and exotic cars. he did a helluva job on this $140k jaguar that I was convinced. He got the job done for way less than two k. i took the car to a couple of shops who told me the paint job would go for over $3000 and this this one shop in upland would charge me $3600 to do the same job AND twice the time. This guy took four days and he removed fourteen small dings here and there from shopping cart dings to when people open the door too close to your car kinda dings. Impressive. If you want to get your car worked on I highly recommend this guy.Text me at 909-575-7697 Alan. No, I don't get any compensation for this at all, my only hope is to help you guys out who are on a budget and want high quality work.

Out with the old in with the new had a good time with my built all motor k20 but now it's time to see some real power

I'm in the process of ordering everything now Yosolo is really helping me out with getting everything ASAP
This is a very similar set up that just made great power for him the other day

First things first I have a drag cartel head I will be using thanks to my boy hooking me up with an amazing price

K24 bottom end either 12.5:1 or 13.7:1 not sure which one i had 13.5:1 in my k20 and loved it so I probably will do 13.7 cause the power gains are significant all Brian Crower internals coming from prayoonto and probably just a type s oil pump

The head I will be running prayoonto stage 5 cams and all super tech internals with the real nice port and polished drag cartel head I believe with 3 angle valve job going to pick it up tonight either way better then my k20 head

I already have rc750 cc injectors a walbro fuel pump and k tuned fuel psi reg and golden eagle so fuel system is fine
Got a ported rbc manifold with tsx tb and ordering the new import dps intake
Just got to order a new rad and hoses and I'm set trying to get this done ASAP just got my new d2 suspension on just got to adjust the ride height have 15x8" spinwerks with 23.5"slicks so got some adjusting to do tmrw I'm taking all the carpets and interior out to get the sound detening out the air bags may be next since they proved to me twice they don't work and really cutting out useless stuff

This may sound like an OD build for the street but I've put so much into this car since 08 that I can never sell it so why not turn it into a beast on the street for a little until I'm done paying for everything then get a truck to daily really starting to need one.

If I go with the 12.5 compression I'm looking at 270-300 hit or miss over 200 ft/lbs but with the 13.7:1 I'm looking at 300-300 and over 200 I'm leaving toward the 13.7:1 since it is a stage 5 cam I will be running but Yosolo told me he's been putting them in a lot of street cars and there running good and I know a lot of research goes into the design of
Norris's cams so I'm not to scared about the durability of the motor as was not the case with my k20 THANKS SKUNK 2 YOUR CAMS SUCK!! But any way any input is welcome any trash talk is welcome any hating is welcome just wanna here if anyone else has gone the way of the stage 5 cam yet for dd
Thanks for listening to my rambling haha

Ripply's (Cheap for Now) Made in Bulgaria Build

Hi all. I've been on the forum for some time now, mostly using it as a tool to help me out with my car and also to admire all the others beautiful cars. After some time now, I think it's finally my turn to make a build thread because my car is slowly but surely getting modded bit by bit. I realize I don't have th best of parts, but I'm a freshman in college and money is not the best right now, but as time moves on I will be upgrading a lot of the part. Well heres what I have done so far.*

Bought the car in may of 2012. Travelled 140 miles from PA to NJ to buy it, and somehow managed to bring it back home without any license plates :ohsnap:

After buying the car I had little money left, but I wanted to make it mine somehow. While shopping for oil, I found these letter and decided to put my name on the back

Then came drop in intake filter, and caliper paint with decals

15% window tint on the back 3 windows

Yellow fogs

Front lip, the adhesive didn't stick properly and there was a gap. I didn't want to take it off so I added some red trim.

Fall season hit, I had more money and it was time for my first real performance mod. KN SRI, bought it from a salvaged car for $130. Only 5K miles on the filter

Then my exhaust. I couldn't find anything within my budget, and the ones I did people weren't willing to ship so I settled on buying a 2.5" Spec D from ebay for $130. It's about as loud as a tsudo

I had my intake and exhaust, now I needed a header. I found a pretty much brand new cnt catless race header on Craigslist. Only 300 miles on it for $70

Install took 7 hours. Everything was so rusted that it made things more difficult. We Ended up using a forklift to jack the car higher so we can work underneath better

Finally I couldn't resist on this and ended up buying a pair of 12" Alpine type E's for 50 dollars

I'm pretty satisfied with the car. I knew I couldn't ask for much power or performance based on those parts, but my build of a little over 400 dollars brought me 206 HP and 149 TQ which gave me a big surprise since I don't even have Flashpro.

Some photos which I found interesting
Next to my bigger bro's Si. Thanks to him I found interest in this car

The M3 which I wash for a neighbor once a week

Current mods:
Hfp front lip
Painted brakes
KN SRI
CNT Catless Race Header
2.5" Speck D exhaust
2 12" Alpine Type E's

Future mods:
Flashpro (number one priority)
Hasport motor mounts
Invidia Q300
HFP rear lip and side skirts
Retros
Brakes
Wheels
HFP or a similar suspension
Supercharger

Thanks for watching and sorry for all the crappy photos. I don't have a camera and all of them are cell phone taken

So after owning my car for about two months I've finally felt the urge to make changes! My first idea was to take stock taillights and either build entirely new fiberglass housings and colour match them to my car like these ones I built for my mazda mx3:

retrofit stock oem housings like my second LED tail lights I built for my mazda:

Or just buy aftermarket LED tail lights. So after looking around at prices for used tail lights, I decided to buy aftermarket LED tail lights instead. I was looking for a stock looking tail light, but I didn't like the LED patterns that were out there. So I opted instead for a set of tail lights with a black housing that I had to order from California. Here's a pic of them:

These should be coming to my door with a week or so.
